Description:

TriMed Media Group is seeking a full-time and two part-time and/or contracted experienced healthcare editors to contribute original content and report on the latest advances in healthcare IT, healthcare technology, radiology, cardiology and more. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented individual who is eager to take ownership of the web site and excels at developing original and aggregated content for the site. You will also be responsible for translating marketing needs into custom content and interactive projects, and be able to plan and execute these programs for multiple national medical device and technology brands. Must enjoy working in an entrepreneurial environment where being able to both take initiative and work as part of a team is valued.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Editor is responsible for writing, editing and revising stories and content for newsletters, websites and magazines. SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  • Provide breaking news, daily news and features for healthcare and technology websites
  • Write, edit and revise stories and content
  • Edit copy and input daily articles in online content management system, including proper tagging for categorization
  • Contact and interview (via telephone and in-person) healthcare industry members, clinicians, vendors and others to gather material for content
  • Read, interpret and write up applicable studies in journals and interview study authors
  • Deliver high-quality work on deadline and ensure factual accuracy of content
  • Gather necessary artwork, photos and charts for stories
  • Communicate regularly and collaborate effectively with editorial team members
  • Participate actively in team meetings
  • Attend and report on seminars, conferences and tradeshows
  • Interview presenters and vendors at tradeshows using video and audio for online presentation; attend networking events
  • Develop relationships with industry leaders and organizations to generate story ideas
  • Listen to and report on online/web events
  • Other duties assigned by Editorial Director or Managing Editor

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Ability to multi-task while being both accurate, efficient, attentive to detail, grammar and style while under pressure and strict deadlines
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with content management systems

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of three years in a healthcare or medical related field
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English or related field or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years editing and writing experience
