Description:

The Waynesboro News Virginian, a seven-day-a-week operation that's part of BH Media Group, has an opening for a city editor with strong copy editing, organizational and reporting skills.

The city editor coordinates with the managing editor to plan the daily content for the paper. That includes working with reporters, editing copy and writing stories. Each of the staff members covers a beat and the city editor is no exception. Some night and weekend work is required. In addition to working on the paper, a successful candidate would be skilled in using social media and understand that the digital side is just as important as print.

Waynesboro is a vibrant small city located at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the middle of Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley, less than two miles from the Appalachian Trail as well as the entrances to the Shenandoah National Park and the Blue Ridge Parkway. It’s also less than an hour from both Harrisonburg and Charlottesville, and 2.5 hours from Washington, D.C.

Interested applicants should contact managing editor Brian Carlton at  bcarlton@newsvirginian.com. Please include your resume and links to five examples of your recent work.
