The Moscow-Pullman Daily News needs a reporter who can explain to our readers what the Moscow City Council and Latah County Commissioners and their bureaucracies are up to – whether they want the public to know or not. The reporter also will cover car crashes and the courts, small towns and big characters, crops and cops. 

The best candidate for this job will have a bachelor's degree and some experience covering a beat for a newspaper. He or she will be an energetic self-starter eager to work both independently and in cooperation with a small team of reporters, editors and photographers. An affinity for tweets and posts on various digital platforms, plus skills with still and video cameras, are a plus.

This is a full time position paying $23,650 to $25,790 a year DOE with annual reviews. The Daily News offers a full slate of benefits including vacation, holidays, sick leave, medical, dental and life insurance, an Employee Stock Ownership Plan, a 401K plan and more. No moving expenses are paid for this position.

The Daily News is a family and employee owned 5,500 circulation six-day newspaper with 14 news staffers whose coverage straddles the state line between Moscow, Idaho, and Pullman, Wash. These two education-focused cities are home to the University of Idaho and Washington State University and their high-tech spinoffs. They are surrounded by 13 communities centered on agriculture and timber in Latah County, Idaho, and Whitman County, Wash.
