Creative Designer

Club Solutions Magazine, based in Louisville, Ky., is a national business trade resource for the health and fitness industry. Club Solutions provides best practice, business resources to educate and empower health club professionals. Those resources include: a monthly publication, website, e-newsletters and social media pages.

Club Solutions Magazine is looking for someone that possesses strong graphic and creative design experience across various media platforms to work out of the Louisville, Ky. office. The Creative Director will work as part of a team that designs Club Solutions Magazine and takes creative direction from the editorial staff, designs infographics, web graphics, advertisements, marketing materials, e-mail designs and interactive media. He or she will help Club Solutions Magazine communicate progressive ideas and business strategies through clear, visually compelling design. The Creative Director’s primary responsibility is the layout and production of print publications, as well as visuals and design for the web.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two (2) years of professional design experience. Candidate must have a proven track record for exceeding goals and working under pressure.




  • Design and layout of publications often including photos and magazine-style visual techniques.
  • Create charts, graphs and infographics from data, working with the editorial staff.
  • Work with print vendors to produce all printed materials for Club Solutions Magazine and ensure that they arrive on schedule.
  • Work with customers to retrieve and collect advertisements for particular issues or newsletters.
  • Develop graphics for web and video on an as-needed basis.
  • Manage print and graphic workflow.
  • Moderate weekly meetings for design requests.
  • Assist with web and e-mail design projects.
  • Work with the editor and publisher for special projects, events and new media.





  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in graphic design or related major.
  • Two years of professional design experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Task and outcome oriented.
  • Highly creative.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong portfolio of design work.
  • Believe in high activity levels.
  • High-level experience with Adobe Creative Suite in a Mac OS X environment, as well with the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Commitment to the organization’s mission and goals.



Not required, but highly desirable:

Experience and proficiency with:

  • Infographic and magazine design.
  • Prepress processes.
  • Typography.
  • Web design, especially designing with web standards.
  • Photography.



Compensation:Base salary, bonuses and retirement plan.
