The Manager of Public Relations is responsible for the day to day operations of the Consumer Business Division's (CBD) public relations/communications initiatives to drive brand awareness, preference and sales. Scope of work includes developing strategy, tactics and plans to generate positive public view of the Samsung brand and its wide array of products (including product reviews), drive PR campaigns whether to the trade or consumer, lead events (press/consumer/trade) and manage PR agency partners This position will require interface with range of internal stakeholders from product marketing, North America Headquarters and counterparts in overseas head office for global communication strategy sync, and the media at large (journalists, bloggers and analysts). In addition, the Senior Manager will manage the day to day operations of PR agencies, budget and review all activities (including sample distribution, evaluation of external PR opportunities).

The Manager must have an operational and creative communication acumen to ensure PR is a driver of overall campaigns that syncs and optimizes resources and market impact.

Common Essential Duties & Resp.

Public Relations * Manage PR activities including planning and operations * Drive consumer and product events across CBD product categories * Support crisis communications activities * Manage all financial/budget operations * Lead day-to-day management as well as maintenance of press relationships (mainstream, non-traditional) * Respond to media inquiries * Secure & manage interviews * Develop & manage CBD press events * Includes reporting results * Drive product review process, including securing and distributing samples * Collaborate with Korea HQ, Korea business groups (GBM) and regional corporate (NAHQ Strategic Marketing) entities * Lead in the management of PR agencies and other support team members

Internal Communications * Drive/manage communication of press activities/information - Results/KPI - Major media placements - Competitive activities * Lead liaison with other SEA & SEC entities for better coordination and synergy * Manage the CBD messaging for company events * All other duties as assigned by management

Background/Experience

Education: Bachelor's degree

Experience: 5 years of experience, preferably in Public Relations and/or Marketing, Media Relations, Event management Consumer electronics industry experience a plus

Skills: * Exceptional management skill to oversee all areas * Exceptional detail orientation * Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills * Solid written and verbal communication skills * High level of professionalism required as a representative of the company * Ability to work independently with little or no direction; strong decision making skills and problem solving skills * Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment * Ability to lead teams * Strong agency and client relationship management skills * Excellent time management, organizational, and project management skills * Proficient in Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)Proficient in Microsoft Office experience (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Skills and Requirements needed for success: Education: Bachelor's degree; MBA a plus

Experience: 5-years of experience, preferably in Corporate Public Relations and/or Marketing, Media Relations, Event management Business acumen in technology field, and or PC/mobile/SmartTV emerging technologies Consumer electronics, publishing and or retail industry experience a plus
