Description:

The Brooklyn Paper The Brooklyn Paper & Courier Life newspaper group is seeking a hard-working editor to cover the arts, dining, and entertainment scene in New York’s most exciting borough.

The Arts and Entertainment Editor will be responsible for managing and producing content for CNG’s Arts and Entertainment websites, sections, and specialty publications in Brooklyn, NY. Responsibilities include updating websites with new content on a regular basis, then re-purposing the content for use in the print editions of CNG’s GO Brooklyn, 24-Seven, and Brooklyn Uncovered. The Arts and Entertainment Editor will work with the editor to determine content, then manage the production of content using a stable of freelancers along with reporters in the Brooklyn office. The Editor will also write stories, work on the layout and design of the publications, and promote our web presence using social media and search engine optimization. The Editor will be responsible for updating the company-wide calendar listings along with the company-wide venues directory. Editor will be expected to represent the company at events held throughout the borough, including galas, premiers, and the like, where the editor will conduct on-the-spot interviews with local, national, and international celebrities.

Ideal candidate will have at least two years experience as a reporter (preferably covering the arts), be tenacious and tireless, and want to work in an exhilarating environment in which a high value is placed on accuracy, speed, and prolificacy.
