Distinguish yourself as you help to improve the quality of patient care
The College of American Pathologists (CAP), founded in 1946, has had more impact than any other organization on the standardization and improvement of clinical laboratory procedures. Headquartered just north of Chicago, with a satellite office in D.C., the CAP is the second largest medical association in the US, as measured by revenues. It is the largest medical association exclusively made up of board-certified pathologists supporting the specialty of pathology. In 2012, the CAP was recognized in the Chicago Tribune Top Workplaces special section.
The CAP is committed to pathologists’ success today and tomorrow. In response to the changing health care environment, the CAP is spearheading a multiyear transformation effort that will have an enormous impact on the way pathologists practice and organize; how clinical colleagues, patients, and others in the medical community perceive them; and how the reimbursement for pathologists’ services is structured.
