This position offers you the opportunity to play an important role in keeping our digital audience informed, and increasing engagement on special projects. Initially, you will focus on two key projects: The Sandy Recovery Scorecard and the Groceries platform, managing tasks from assisting with development and presentation to aggregating content to curating an eNewsletter, posting 3rd party content, and more. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to build out your experience, work in a fun, upbeat culture, and learn from top professionals. The ideal candidate for this role will be hungry to make an impact, eager to take his/her career to the next level and motivated to continue growing professionally. To be a strong fit for the Associate Producer role, you will need:

  • A bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or the equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in journalism, communications or a related field.
  • Two to three years of professional experience writing, producing and packaging digital content.
  • The ability to work a flexible schedule, as needed, to provide 24/7 site coverage.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite applications.
  • Experience with and knowledge of:
    • HTML,
    • Movable Type or equivalent blogging software, and
    • Web-based content management applications.
