Manager, Content Development is a new role within an established corporate communications department responsible for internal and external engagement for Time Warner Cable, a $21 billion, Fortune 150 broadband telecommunications company serving more than 14 million customers in 29 states. This person must be an idea-driven multimedia storyteller with the ability to work independently, meet deadlines and integrate closely with colleagues within the communications function and other disciplines. The ideal candidate is a talented and curious writer and researcher; a prolific reporter with a track record of content creation for traditional and new-media platforms; and an expert storyteller who can cut to the gist of complex issues and relay information effectively to numerous audiences.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead content producer for the company’s issues-management website, TWC Conversations, as well as contribute regular stories to the corporate blog, Untangled, as well as the company’s other internal and external web platforms.
  • Generate and disseminate regular editorial communications across multiple platforms, including intranet, web and social media.
  • Dig for stories that support the company’s goals. Coordinate with creative production resources to combine words with appropriate visuals to convey stories in compelling, creative ways.
  • Inject a storytelling perspective into the company’s communications strategy by crafting stories that personalize and promote the company and its employees.
  • Follow consistent editorial style in all communications.


  • At least 4-6years of professional experience in editing, news reporting, writing and other relevant communications disciplines.
  • Experience in content creation for diverse media and an ability to combine words with video, graphics and other visuals to tell compelling stories.
  • Strong multimedia storytelling skills, including stellar writing, ability to shoot and edit video, and familiarity with web production. On-camera skills a plus.
  • Ability to produce multiple materials and juggle numerous projects simultaneously under strict deadline pressure.
  • Ability to interact and collaborate effectively with employees in all areas and levels of the company.
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex topics and technology.
  • Sense of urgency.
  • Creativity.
  • Some travel required.
  • At least a bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations or related field.
