Description:

Do you eat, breath and live sports? Then we're looking for you. The Rome News-Tribune in Rome, Ga. has an immediate opening for a sports writer. This position will cover games, write features and columns and layout pages using InDesign. This is a great opportunity for a young journalist right out of college looking to get great clips and experience. We have a video production studio, and you'll have the chance to be a part of our Emmy-nominated high school football show. Writing is great but it's only part of the equation. We're also looking for someone who can own social media, take photos and produce videos as well. If you don't have the abilities in those areas, don't worry because we'll teach you.

Our emphasis is local coverage. Rome has numerous high schools, a couple of colleges, a Class A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves and tons of chances to tell great stories.  If you're interested, please e-mail clips and resume to Jim Alred at jalred@npco.com.
