Summary of Duties:
WSJ Custom Studios is looking for a dynamic, digital-first Editor to develop editorial strategy and to create, on a daily basis, the engaging branded content that drives outstanding results for our clients. You will spearhead the editorial voice and creation of multi-platform sponsor content that will be distributed throughout brand channels and to the WSJ?s unique and powerful audience.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee creation of comprehensive and compelling editorial platforms and ideas for branded content programs that are digital-centric but that can be translated across multiple channels, including print, video, mobile and tablet
  • Manage processes and support to achieve best-in-class editorial, including proofreaders, fact-checkers, etc. across full-time and freelance staff
  • Lead the process of transforming a creative idea into a content marketing program, including editorial calendars, topic thumbnails, and short- or long-form content for a variety of formats, including posts, articles, white papers, etc.
  • Create, roll out and optimize process improvements to enhance quality of editorial and streamline the content creation process
  • Serve as editorial lead on specific campaigns/accounts, coordinating with account and design teams to uphold excellent client service and content development best practices
  • Ensure that standards for reliable, accurate and quality content development are met
  • Instill and exemplify a culture of editorial excellence, accountability and problem-solving
  • Stay abreast of content marketing and native advertising trends in order to best service client accounts
  • Manage contingent staff, as needed

  • Bachelor?s degree

Years of Experience
  • Minimum 7 years experience in digital journalism at best-in-class publications
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in branded content development and distribution, specifically across digital channels
  • Proven success in managing in end-to-end editorial process (writing, editing, proofreading, fact-checking & production)
  • Demonstrates expertise across several content categories with specific focus on finance & markets or technology
  • Ability to create content for various platforms
  • Proven track record as a trusted leader, effective communicator and positive contributor to the team dynamic
  • Take ownership of finding solutions
