The Silver City Sun-News, a seven-day daily zoned edition of the Las Cruces SunNews, is seeking a full-time reporter.

We are located in Silver City, N.M., on the edge of the 3.3 million-acre Gila National Forest – a two-hour drive from Las Cruces.

SilverCityis a tourist/mountain/arts town known for its “four gentle seasons” and friendly people.

We’re looking for a solid, hardworking reporter with excellent writing, listening and organizational skills to work side-by-side with our bureau chief and in collaboration with staff in our Las Cruces office.

Beat includes a little bit of everything – breaking news, cops and courts, community events, county and city government, higher ed and K-12, arts and culture, and the outdoors.

We want a solid team player with a dedication to accuracy, an eye for photography, and a true sense of urgency, who can work well both collaboratively and independently, sometimes with minimal supervision, and under tight deadlines.
