Cops Reporter - Seeking staff writer to cover cops, fire and courts in Terrebonne Parish. We're looking for someone with enterprise and talent to write both breaking news and in-depth stories. Qualified job applicants will have a strong hard-news background and the ability to dig for hard-hitting stories, root out corruption and other problems and write about solutions. A sense of humor is a must, as is the ability to learn how to spell names like Boudreaux and Thibodaux. Feature writers need not apply. Tasks will also include shooting and editing videos and posting  news to our websites. The Courier in Houma, is a 13,000 circulation paper published seven days a week. Its sister paper, the Daily Comet in Thibodaux, La., is a 9,000 circulation paper published six days per week. Both papers are consistently recognized for quality journalism. You can apply online at houmatoday.com or dailycomet.com website and scroll down to "Work For Us." You can also send resumes and at least five samples of your writing, to Karen Dauzat, Human Resource Director, PO BOX 2717, Houma, LA 70361.
