Description:

The Palm Beach Post’s expanding Breaking News Team is looking for a fast-paced, aggressive reporter with hustle, who can react quickly, write well on deadline, use social media to its fullest and beat the competition.

The best applicant will report breaking news with all of its multimedia and social media angles (videos, photos, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), and then realize how it’s connected to local news in a bigger picture sense. We want someone to find the answers quickly in a highly competitive market, develop well-placed sources, and pursue the often-odd stories that define our area. The ideal applicant will show initiative, never run out of story ideas and contribute creative ideas for presenting online reporting.

The job requires the ability to balance more than one story, react swiftly to news and work closely with reporters and producers throughout the newsroom. The breaking news reporter will be experienced with all aspects of story presentation: photos, headlines, graphics and web presence.

We require a solid knowledge and participation in social media; previous newspaper experience preferred.

Anyone interested should contact Digital Breaking News Editor John Bisognano with cover letter and clips; John_Bisognano@pbpost.com.
