Description:

The Salt Lake Tribune has an immediate opening for a smart, social media-savvy, SEO-knowledgable content manager with great news judgement and community insight to help manage its Eppy Award-winning website.
As a Web content manager working Saturday through Wednesday from 4 p.m. to midnight, you will monitor and place stories and blog items on sltrib.com, optimizing for SEO, adding links, multimedia and other content as available. You will promote content online and using social media, managing and monitoring the Tribune’s popular Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest accounts. In addition, you will engage with readers and alert editors to story updates and ideas discovered online. You will be an integral part of the innovative digital team, working in a newsroom of Utah's best journalists.  
Required skills include:

  • Sound news judgment and proven writing and editing skills (past newsroom experience required)
  • Social media savvy, including demonstrated mastery of Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest
  • Knowledge of SEO
  • The ability to work independently and bring new ideas to the table
