FierceMarkets, a growing online media company based in Washington, D.C., is seeking an experienced B2B healthcare reporter and editor who will be responsible for daily news reporting and editing in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Reporting to the Senior Editor, the Editor will contribute to our daily newsletter, FierceHealthcare, and its related publications, including FierceHealthFinanceThe candidate will also conduct Webinars and write eBook articles. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of the business of healthcare and a commitment to editorial quality. You will be part of a team that is responsible for making FierceHealthcare the first place healthcare leaders turn to for industry news and establishing a trusted relationship with readers.



·         Identify, write and edit daily online stories targeted to a sophisticated audience of healthcare executives and leaders/

·         Coordinate coverage with freelance reporters and in-house editors.

·         Create special features and articles for the publication and Web site and conduct interviews with industry leaders.

·         Contribute to editorial execution of eBooks and Webinars.

·         Attend conferences and trade shows, cover sessions and news from the show, take briefings, cover press conferences and interview speakers and


·         Post to and help grow our presence on social media sites.

·         Actively engage and build audiences using SEO tactics and social media best practices.


·         3-5 years editorial experience, including experience covering healthcare provider (hospital, health system and physician practice) business news.

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·         Experience with daily online journalism, general understanding of SEO tactics, and familiarity with social media platforms.

·         Familiarity with major topics of interest to healthcare executives, including accountable care and other payment models, healthcare reform, operations

          and business management, patient care and outcomes and regulatory issues.

·         Ability to create original content and identify topics that will resonate with readers.

·         Ability to work independently to achieve deadlines.

·         Positive attitude and a “fierce” work ethic.

·         Experience with Content Management Systems a plus.
