DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Position Description: We are seeking a newsroom developer to construct and support a database that collects, normalizes and transmits data for online and print graphics and news apps, for the Journal and DJX. The developer would also write code to support web-scraping and the wrangling of data feeds.


Position Requirements: The ideal candidate would have a high degree of expertise in PHP, Python, Angular.js, Backbone.js Node.js, MySQL and NoSQL databases. Should have examples of public API usage (Twitter, Google maps) in high-traffic environments as well as development of either private or, ideally, public API for clients.
