Description:

Dodge City. It's the most famous cowtown of them all. But if you're not iinterested in walking the same streets that Wyatt Earp patrolled in 1879, you can still cover a 21st century community that is just as vibrant and exciting as the Dodge City of a slightly more lawless era. The Globe has chronicled life in Dodge City since 1878. Now as then, the staples of news in and about the town revolve around cattle, cowboys, entertainment, gaming and growth. There's plenty of news to cover on every beat and the successful applicant will be one of diverse interests who can report on any subject. In addition to BILINGUAL REPORTERS to cover our large and still-growing Hispanic community, we're looking for all of the things you would expect: a love for telling stories, clear, concise writing, initiative, the ability to develop sources and a familiarity with photography, social media and the software common to most newsrooms. We offer a competitive salary, excellent benefits and a chance to move up in a company with more than 200 print and online publications. Send samples of your work and a resume to General Manager Conrad Easterday at the Dodge Ciity Daily Globe, 705 N. Second St., Dodge City, KS 67801. Application by e-mail is also acceptable. ceasterday@dodgeglobe.com.
