The Lexington (Ky.) Herald-Leader, a Pulitzer-Prize winning daily newspaper, is looking for an aggressive and tech-savvy Digital Breaking News Reporter to pursue breaking news and seek out enterprise stories and visuals.

The ideal candidate responds aggressively to cover breaking and developing news within the Herald-Leader market using all available methods – including mobile, tablet, laptop, photo and video camera -- to report details quickly, in words and visuals. Breaks and competitively covers news of interest to readers and should spend a large amount of time reporting from the field. Generates multimedia (photo and video) and interactive ideas and content for digital and social media platforms, including mobile, in a timely, appealing and effective manner that increases readership online.

Must handle multiple assignments, write quickly and clearly, update news reports frequently and combine feeds from colleagues into coherent stories. Superb news judgment, the ability to work independently and an aptitude for staying composed under extreme pressure. Develops enterprise stories for Web and print, as well as multimedia for the Web. Is the primary breaking news reporter, with emphasis on the Web. Should be proficient in photography and in the production of story-telling video.
