Additionally, the Atlantic Media Fellows participate in the Atlantic Media Academy, a comprehensive curriculum providing a 360-degree view of the modern media industry covering the editorial, operational, and economic sides of journalism today.

 

Job Description

This Fellowship is for TheAtlantic.com’s forthcoming education channel. The Fellowship will begin in August 2013 and will run through June 2014. This Fellowship opportunity will be located in Washington, D.C.

 

Responsibilities May Include:

  • Reporting
  • Fact checking and research
  • Web production (photo research, copy editing, multimedia editing and blogging)
  • Manuscript review
  • Social media

 

Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous journalism experience required
  • Strong interest in education policy and other education-related topics
  • Strong interest in publishing and online media
  • Detail-oriented with effective time management and organization skills
  • Maturity, poise and “grace under pressure”
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Adaptable and willing to approach tasks with velocity and a high metabolism.
