Description:

The Daily Star in Hammond, a university town in Southeast Louisiana across the lake from New Orleans, has an immediate opening for a versatile journalist who can report, interview, write, paginate and take photos for print and online products. Our job offers excellent opportunities for an aggressive, up-and-coming reporter. We specialize in coverage of Tangipahoa Parish, one of the most interesting communities in the world. We're community-focused, but our community has no shortage of significant issues, big business news, major violent crimes, the inevitable hurricanes (August is coming), Hollywood celebrities making movies in our scenic settings -- a gamut of exciting news that can enable you to build a great clip file while acquiring experiences you'll value your whole life. Applicants should send resume and a couple of best writing clips to Executive Editor Lillian K. Mirando at editor@hammondstar.com.
