Description:

The Forum Newsgroup is looking for hardworking freelancers with a penchant for community journalism. The ideal candidates will have a flexible schedule, a passion for covering our 11 neighborhoods in Queens, an ability to meet deadlines, a working knowledge of AP Style and basic photography skills.

 

The Forum Newsgroup has been providing reliable community news for close to 40 years. We publish two weekly newspapers covering Howard Beach, Ozone Park, Broad Channel, Richmond Hill, Woodhaven, Maspeth, Middle Village, Glendale, Ridgewood, Forest Hills, and Rego Park.

The position will allow recent college graduates to hone their skills and acquire clips, as well as provide a chance for experienced journalists to cover vibrant communities. As a member of our team, you’ll get a chance to cover the wide variety of issues we report on - including murder investigations, political scuffles, and a burgeoning arts scene.
