POSITION OVERVIEW: Bloomberg BNA, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bloomberg, and a leading source of legal, regulatory, and business information for professionals, seeks an Editor-Accounting to perform complex analysis and writing of accounting materials for assigned publication(s); edit and maintain existing content; monitor and develop new content for the unit’s resource center; and assist with quality control review of the unit’s resource center.

RESPONSIBILITES: Identify, analyze, and draft content related to accounting materials for inclusion in accounting resource centers (ACRC and BTAC); edit relevant accounting materials, including manuscripts/Portfolios, stories, reports, and databases for accuracy, content and style, to ensure that quality standards of accounting resource center and assigned publications are met; maintain subject area knowledge related to unit's resource center and publication(s); remain current on issues and developments in the field; serve as a subject area expert and resource for others contributing to same or related publications; assist in production of unit's news publication(s); ensure copy and production deadlines are met; act as backup to the copy editor and assistant managing editor to manage the unit's editorial operation in their absence; assist with marketing projects and sales calls related to accounting products; participate in special projects; and perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: 2+ years’ experience in business, finance, or accounting-related writing or journalism and/or professional experience in an accounting related position; thorough knowledge of subject area(s) covered by assigned publication(s); ability to use electronic research methods effectively; excellent organizational and proof reading skills; ability to obtain primary source data, edit news stories, portfolios, features, and other material for content and style; ability to use BBNA publishing systems effectively with training; thorough knowledge of BBNA style rules; ability to work efficiently under deadlines; and ability to work effectively with other staff members. Bachelor’s with coursework in accounting or finance, or equivalent experience.
