Are you an energetic, curious, community-minded news reporter who keeps a police scanner on your bedside table?  If so, the Ames Tribune, an award-winning news operation in one of Iowa's most vibrant small cities, wants to hear from you.

We have an immediate opening for an experienced public safety reporter who thrives on covering crime, fires, courts, severe weather, traffic mishaps and anything else that bears on our audience's sense of safety. You'll write stories, take pictures, shoot video, blog and engage with our audience on Facebook and Twitter, and you are looking for a newsroom where you can learn and grow.

The successful candidate will have a four-year degree in journalism and few years of experience in a fast-paced news environment and will be at home using all the tools available to reporters in the 21st century.
