Wicked Local is seeking a P/T Editorial Assistant. This is a 20-hour position. It is one of a two-person department supporting 20 print publications and 22 websites. Responsibilities: Responsible for receiving, reviewing and formatting all calendar requests, acquired from the web, e-mail, fax and hard copy, Posting and keeping current web calendars; preparing print calendars and loading into CMS system on a weekly schedule, Specifically responsible for all incoming correspondence (primarily e-mail) for three publications, In addition to the three specific editors, responsible for correspondence for other publications on an as-needed basis, Receiving, reviewing and formatting all ROP content; preparing and loading content into CMS system for the weekly print publication. Wicked Local has an opening in their Marshfield, Mass. office for a staff reporter covering the town of Marshfield. We’re seeking an energetic, persistent and creative person able to meet daily web requirements, weekly press deadlines and multi-task in multiple medias. The staff writer is responsible for covering and reporting on town government, breaking and general news, police news, features, as well as covering various events and activities throughout the community. In addition to contributing stories for our weekly newspapers, frequent daily postings and updates to our websites is a requirement, along with photography and multi-media work including shooting, editing and posting video. The reporter must also be social media master, making daily Facebook posts to our newspaper pages and tweeting to both the newspaper Twitter channel and their own reporter Twitter account. The reporter will also be asked to go beyond their beat and contribute to local special sections and projects and company-wide enterprise projects.
