Description:

The McDonough County Voice is seeking a staff reporter to cover general assignment and various small-town beats to start as soon as possible.

Located in Macomb, Ill., the home of Western Illinois University's main campus, we publish five editions a week with a heavy emphasis on hyperlocal human interest and government reporting. This is a great place to begin a journalism career for those looking to test their skills on multiple platforms, including writing, photo, video and page design. Enthusiasm is a must.

Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field highly preferred. Will consider recent college graduates who are hungry to learn and make Macomb their own. The Voice has an approximate 3,800 daily circulation. Send a brief cover letter, resume and work samples to Editor Jackie Smith at jsmith@McDonoughVoice.com.
