We are hiring a hands-on Managing Editor-Client Publications to oversee and create advertorial copy for local and national client publications on a variety of topics, which range from not for profits to public agencies.  This may include interviews, profiles, translating complicated financial/scientific information into easily understandable information points for the everyday person, company histories, etc.  The Managing Editor will write 3-6 articles weekly and manage up to 9-15 freelance writers/photographers. Will develop and maintain project schedule, coordinate and participate in client meetings, and work closely with our art direction team. 

Our ideal candidate will have excellent time management skills and ability to work within deadlines, a strong work ethic and excellent communication skills.  Co-workers describe you as a great team player and person with above average creativity and sense of humor.  Must be able to effectively work with the public and clients to foster good communication and awareness of the News & Review.

Qualified applicants will have a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in journalism, English, or marketing; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Experience writing for a daily newspaper, magazine or alternative weekly preferred or experience in writing branded collateral (ie. brochures, public service guides, programs, press releases, strategic plans, etc.) for not-for-profits, public agencies and/or corporate businesses.

This position is located in Sacramento, CA.  Relocation assistance is not available; please only apply if you are able to begin work in Sacramento within three weeks of an offer.
