Description:

In this position you will have the opportunity to showcase your creativity and great ideas as a key part of a new initiative on the cutting edge of digital journalism -- we are looking for professionals who can bring a fresh approach. You will join a team of Curators pulling content from digital platforms and other sources, and transforming it into top-quality print stories and packages for both newspaper and magazine publication. Pivotal to your success will be your ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders from several other areas of the organization.

We are building a team of top talent in a truly collaborative environment in which you'll share ideas and explore the latest trends. You'll help pave the way and your talents, determination, and drive will be key to your success.

Sports Editors, Managing Editors and City Editors are especially encouraged to apply.

To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have:
  • A bachelor's degree in Journalism, English or a related field, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Solid newsroom experience, ideally a senior editing position in sports.
  • Very strong writing and copy editing skills
  • A demonstrated ability to package sports news.
  • Demonstrated news judgment that aligns with the direction set by senior management for our 3-day sports section.
  • Working knowledge of online social networks (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter), blogs, wikis, and emerging communications technologies as well as how that information might be incorporated into successful packages.
  • Knowledge of newspaper production as well as other forms of print media.
  • Knowledge of graphic design concepts and theories.
