A media-savvy audience development professional is needed to manage the marketing and fulfillment of a paid subscriber base and newsstand distribution. This position will develop and execute marketing promotions, including direct mail campaigns, online channels (e-mail marketing, social media) and onsite marketing events. The Audience Development Professional reports to the publisher. This is a full time (40+ hours/week) salaried position.  

Subscription Fulfillment Responsibilities:

* Process orders, payments, and renewals in circulation software * File maintenance/mailing list management to include cancellations, address updates, refunds and adjustments * Handle customer service phone calls, requests, letters and emails * Ensure accuracy and timeliness for monthly label runs, renewals and billing updates * Work with vendor for all printed collateral such as renewal statements, billing statements and direct mail projects

Subscription Campaign Responsibilities:

* Manage paid subscriber renewal series and controlled subscriber re-qualification series * Promote 'expires' (those who have a lapsed subscription) on a regular basis to bring them back as subscribers * Create and manage blow-in and bind-in card promotions * Manage all campaign responses giving a trend analysis * Develop and test new methods of acquiring new subscribers, increasing renewal rates and bringing back expires/lost subscribers

Distribution Responsibilities:

* Work with local and national distribution companies to track sales and manage sell-through * Invoice wholesale distributors on a monthly basis * Work closely with newsstand consultant to acquire trends and industry knowledge * Prepare monthly distribution report and send to printer * Work with post office to insure postal regulations are maintained * Manage public place copies and controlled circulation * Communicate with newsstand wholesalers to ensure timely payment


* Experience with CircPro software (or equivalent) preferred * Strong competency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel * Strong keyboard skills * Bachelors degree in Business or Marketing preferred * Experience with subscriber fulfillment activity and customer service * Experience in direct response marketing for paid subscriptions or membership * Excellent customer service skills with the ability to resolve customer problems and complaints in an effective and professional manner * Takes ownership and follows through to close the loop on each customer interaction * Skilled at working in high volume, rapidly changing and fast paced environment * Demonstrates reliability and flexibility * Enthusiastic, courteous, empathetic and highly motivated
