Content Producer, LifeLock

Looking to make an impact? This is a great opportunity to help build a new content experience from the ground up. LifeLock, an industry leader in identity theft protection, is creating a first class consumer destination and needs a web-savvy Content Producer to contribute features, service pieces, timely updates and in-depth analysis. Identity theft is the No. 1 consumer complaint in the U.S., so the potential audience is huge.

You’ll focus on researching and writing content, and packaging text, photos, video and infographics. Duties include contributing to an editorial strategy that establishes LifeLock as a trusted authority on identity theft, monitoring and mining metrics for editorial insights and improvements, incorporating SEO best practices and leveraging social media to showcase your work.

This role requires someone who can report, write and edit a range of material - newsy content, feature and trend stories, service articles, case studies, white papers and thought- leadership pieces. You’ll have strong research skills, experience interviewing and sourcing unique content internally as well as externally, and be able to deliver material that is accurate and accessible to a broad audience. This job reports to LifeLock’s new Content lead, so you’ll be part of a new team that also includes free-lance contributors. Knowledge of identity theft, security or consumer protection fields is ideal but not required, as long as you have a demonstrated ability to learn quickly and deliver smart, high-quality content.


  • Contribute to LifeLock’s new content portal, creating original content across multiple platforms – web, mobile, tablet and Social (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, etc.).
  • Develop, write and edit various kinds of content - news, features, service articles, interviews, trend stories, analysis – on a timely basis.
  • Leverage in-house experts for data, trends, story ideas.
  • Editorially support LifeLock’s mission: “Relentlessly protecting your identity”.
  •  Partner with Marketing, Brand and Communications in developing and maintaining the LifeLock voice.
  • Be a key part of the editorial team: Pitch ideas, monitor news developments, develop industry contacts, participate in editorial meetings, edit copy, help develop and maintain editorial calendar.
  • Work with internal and external teams to drive traffic to editorial content via social media and SEO.
  • Participate in ongoing product development efforts, particularly editorial features and interactives.
  • Provide input on a next generation site, app and CMS that will reinforce LifeLock’s leadership position.


  • 3+ years in online media, ideally at a consumer or news site.
  • Excellent writing skills and editorial judgment, with proven ability to develop and create high-quality digital media.
  • Experience with both timely content and evergreen features.
  • Background in producing and handling a range of content: Text, photos, video, graphics, multi-media, interactives, tweets, posts, etc.
  • Headline, copyediting and photo editing experience are required. Assignment skills and video experience are a big plus.
  • Fluency in social media - Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.
  • Familiar with CMS, proven ability to implement new tools and techniques.
  • Skilled with basic web publishing tools: Photoshop, Word Press, etc.
  • Solid understanding of SEO best practices.
  • Demonstrated success working in a matrixed environment, able to operate independently and as part of a team.
  • Comfortable with metrics, with demonstrated ability to monitor site performance for editorial insights and improvements. Familiarity with Google Analytics a plus.
  • Subject matter expertise in identity theft, security or consumer protection is ideal.
  • B.A. in journalism or related field.
