Company: Mitel
Technical Journalist
Job Status:  Full-time
Ad Expires:
June 11, 2013
Job ID: 1491680

As someone with experience in the telecommunications industry, you are knowledgeable about all things UC, virtualization and the cloud. You keep a pulse on industry trends and know where to look for research and data on hot topics, such as BYOD.

You may have training in or an inclination toward technical writing, but you also have a flair for creativity. You know that at the end of the day, business-to-business readers—whether IT managers, small business owners or chief purchasing officers—are people who appreciate quality information presented in engaging ways just as consumers do.

If this sounds like you, you may be interested in becoming a technical journalist for Mitel. In this role, you’ll monitor trends in telecommunications and pitch content ideas to the Director of Content Marketing for use on the Mitel website. You’ll then research, write and edit pitched and assigned articles, blog posts, infographics, video scripts, web copy and other content.

You'll decide if you want to work full-time out of Mitel's Mesa, Ariz., office or from home as a full-time independent contractor. Either way, you'll be dependable, organized and proactive.

·      Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, English, business/marketing or some other related field.

·      At least five years’ experience as a technical writer and 2-3 years’ recent and relevant experience in the telecommunications industry.

·      A portfolio of technical/telecommunications writing samples.

·      Strong communications skills, both written and verbal.

·      Ability to concept and write engaging content for the business-to-business audience.

·      Ability to write and edit in accordance with AP Style.

Please send a cover letter, your resume and samples of your work (unedited manuscripts are preferred) to
