Are you a detail oriented person? Do you love the news and the idea of presenting it to readers? Are you a word nerd? Do you love page layout and the creativity that it and headline writing provides? Do you enjoy working with award-winning journalists? The Southeast Missourian is looking for a wordsmith with strong design skills to lead our copy desk. We're looking for a versatile person who can handle the pressures of deadline and also take initiative to evaluate processes and systems for efficiency as well as lead a team of copy editors. Candidates must know AP style inside and out and be proficient in InDesign. We're looking for someone with at least five years of experience on a daily copy desk. Any experience with Saxopress content management systems is a plus. The Southeast Missourian is the largest newspaper in Rust Communications. It is located in Cape Girardeau, Mo., the largest city between St. Louis and Memphis. Cape Girardeau is home to a university, two major hospitals and a quaint downtown district on the Mississippi River.
