China Daily USA is seeking a Video Editor / Cameraman for its office in NYC

 

Description: China Daily USA is a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Daily Newspaper Group. It operates and publishes China Daily US edition, the North American version of China Daily, which provides a unique window into China for US readers. It also runs prolific new media platforms, including social media, mobile applications, e-versions for Kindle and Sony, etc.

 

China Daily USA is looking for a Video Editor / Cameraman in its New York office. The ideal candidate should have following qualifications and responsibilities:

 

 

Major responsibilities:

  • Perform on single and multi-camera video productions
  • Compression for video downloads and streaming web video
  •  Non-linear video editing (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, etc.)
  •  Set up background and lighting for video interviews
  •  Operate and maintain video editing systems and related equipment

     

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in journalism, media, or communications
  • Working experience in a newsroom within a media company
  • Experience with news operations, particularly video, Flash and photo publishing
  • Experience with content management and web-publishing tools
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communications (oral and written) skills.
  • Strong knowledge of emerging tools and trends in producing and delivering graphics and multimedia packages as well as an awareness of marketing and promotional trends
  • Knowledge of specialized production software tools, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and Photoshop
  • Good knowledge of international issues, particularly of China
  • Proven ability to work under deadlines
  • Ability to work unusual hours, weekends and be on call as demanded by news coverage.
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

 

This is a full-time position. The company will offer salary and benefits commensurate with experience.
