Description:

The Capital Times in Madison, WI is seeking a dynamic news editor. Though we started as a daily newspaper almost 100 years ago, we are now a digital-first newsroom that focuses on politics from a progressive point of view and what it’s like to live in Madison, a vibrant college city that’s like nowhere else in Wisconsin.

We’re looking for someone who’s got the management skills to lead a team of reporters to engage our readers through social media and insightful journalism, including original reporting, data packages and curation of other interesting content. Our readership is supremely interested in politics in the wake of Scott Walker and the Republican takeover of Wisconsin government, but they’re smart and don’t care for pandering.

This job will require someone prepared to innovate in a cutting edge digital media format. The successful candidate will also have at least five years journalism experience at a news website or newspaper, at least two of those as a manager. A bachelor's degree is preferred.

To be considered for the position apply online at http://go.madison.com/cap-times-jobs.  Deadline to apply is Monday, May 13.
