Vetstreet, a leading pet health and lifestyle website with more than 1.8 million UVs a month, seeks a summer editorial intern.

 

Vetstreet’s articles are written, developed and reviewed by leading veterinarians, professional journalists and animal health experts. We also cover fun events (dock diving, dog shows), track trends (pets in pop culture), review great products and explore all the things that make having a pet so great.

 

The paid, part-time internship will begin the week of June 3 and conclude the week of August 26 (dates are flexible). The intern will work at Vetstreet’s offices in downtown Silver Spring, Md.

 

Qualifications:

·         Working toward a degree in journalism, English or a related field

·         Excellent writing skills and editorial judgment

·         Ability to master content management system

·         Motivated self-starter who can work independently

·         An interest in pet health, training and trends

·         Photoshop and Final Cut Pro skills are a plus

 

Responsibilities

·         Help manage daily content publishing

·         Pitch articles, photo galleries and additional content to editorial team

·         Upload and format editorial content

·         Perform image research for articles and photo galleries

·         Assist editors with social media content, including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+ and Reddit

·         And yes, you are going to be paid to watch a few cat videos
