Reporter/Radio News Director

Times Citizen Communications, a family-owned multimedia company in north central Iowa, is looking for an energetic, news-hungry journalist to join the staff of its converged newsroom. Our company isn’t your average small-town media company. We publish a twice-weekly paper in Iowa Falls, another weekly in Ackley and have our own, on-site radio station. In this unique role, you would be both a reporter for the Times Citizen newspaper and news director for KIFG radio. You’ll cover everything from city business to an attempted murder. We also encourage in-depth investigative reporting. In addition, you’ll be in charge of our popular electronic daily newsletter – TC Daily, collecting news reports from the rest of the news staff and daily news that our readers want to read. We want someone who has a thirst for news and a commitment to accuracy. This is an excellent opportunity for a new journalist to make a name for yourself. Every year our newspaper wins awards from the Iowa Newspaper Foundation, and we’ve finished among the top three large Iowa weeklies six of the last seven years. Iowa Falls sits in a prime location along Hwy. 20, putting us about an hour from Waterloo, Mason City, Ames and Fort Dodge.

Send resume, clips and available multimedia examples of your work to Times Citizen Communications c/o Tony Baranowski, PO Box 640, Iowa Falls, IA, 50126 or e-mail directly to
