Description:

The Idaho State Journal, a 17,000 circulation daily in Southeast
Idaho, is looking for a news reporter who likes covering a variety of
beats, including the outdoors. The ideal candidate will have a strong
passion for journalism both print and online and will possess solid
writing, reporting and photography skills. Web posting and video
training or experience are preferred. Journal
reporters cover a wide variety of news from crime, fires and car
accidents to local government and features on interesting
people. Covering Southeast Idaho's many outdoor activities and issues
is also part of the job description. The Journal is located in
Pocatello, a city ranked as one of the best places in the U.S. for
outdoor recreation. We have some of the country's best mountain biking
here, along with hunting, fishing, skiing, hiking and a variety of
other outdoor activities. Pocatello, population 58,000, is located in
the heart of Southeast Idaho's mountains and is a few hours from
Yellowstone National Park, the Grand Tetons and Salt Lake City. The
Journal has won consistent state, regional and national awards for the
