Description:

The Baker County Press, a 6000-circulation community weekly covering rural Baker County and located about 30-minutes west of Jacksonville, FL, is seeking a part-time sports reporter with journalism experience and a passion for athletics and the great outdoors. Our tight-knit community of some 26,000 is highly interested in local sports teams, from the high school level on down; but also hunting, fishing, camping, horseback riding, racing, off-roading and the like. Although this position is rooted in the sports beat, there's potential for it to transition in the near future to a full-time sports, recreation and general assignment reporting position. Professional experience is preferred, but recent graduates will be considered. Photography experience is a plus, but not required. To apply, send resume and five clips to Jim McGauley at editor@bakercountypress.com.
