Description:

The Bakersfield Californian, a family owned newspaper two hours north of Los Angeles, is looking for an assistant city editor. This job requires someone who can help identify the best stories reporters should be working on; edit daily stories on deadline; shape enterprise stories during and after the reporting and writing stages; and run the city desk in the evening and when the city editor is away. The ACE may periodically report and write stories. Editing experience is preferred, but this could be an opportunity for a seasoned reporter looking for a new challenge. Send examples of edited work or stories that required little editing to City Editor Christine Bedell at cbedell@bakersfield.com.
