Overview

Primary duties will include on-camera presenting, writing & producing for online video-based training programs seen by tens of thouands of Thomson Reuters Markets clients in each global region. The person will also provide audio narration for eLearning modules from scripts provided by the KN eLearning team.  The candidate will have a combination of basic video production skills and familiarity with the daily financial news cycle. Will work collaboratively with other Business Units including Sales, Marketing, Internal Communications and Governance, Regulation & Compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Will provide network level production and on-camera presentation skills for delivery of world-class webcast training programs. 
  • Finalize video scripts for production by liaising with KN content team, product managers and other internal/external clients. This involves providing detailed editing instructions to KN editors as well as capturing product screens via Camtasia software. Global collaboration with other teams will often involve the use of Adobe Connect software.
  • The successful candidate will publish/post finished videos. This involves rendering of videos in multiple versions and then sending to our Akamai server. This work also includes English language sub-titling of completed videos.
  • Will also work with other global teams in guiding them on non-English sub-titlling when requested.
  • Will edit eLearning narrations using Soundforge software.
  • Aid in scheduling guests, when needed, for webcast training programs.
  • Maintain high awareness of financial market news events.
  • Become proficient in using Thomson Reuters Markets software applications such as Eikon.
  • Make Key contributions to the purchasing and vendor process of the KN Video team.

Qualifications

 

Required Skills

  • Candidate must have three to five years experience in a video news production environment where on-camera presenting was part of the daily/weekly workflow.
  • Must have a fundamental understanding of online and studio production requirements.
  • Candidate must provide demo reels of both production skills and presentation skills.
  • Needs a fundamental technical understanding of the global financial markets as well as famiiarity with the financial markets daily news flow.
  • Ability to work independently, handle multiple projects with sometime varying deadlines.
  • Should have the ability to have patience and grace under pressure especially in dealing across different time zones and cultures.

Desired Skills

  • Any other training related experience such as corporate classroom training.  A successful applicant for this role will have produced and presented hundreds of hours of video based media.
  • Great preference would be if that material was relevant to the financial markets.
  • Experience in a news environment would be very helpful. 
  • Any experience related to studio and control room support would also be very useful.

Education

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required
