Description:

DESIGN CENTER EDITOR: Digital First Media is looking for an experienced manager to lead a regional copy desk and page production hub that will produce multiple daily and weekly newspapers from one location.  In the coming year, our newspapers will make the switch to a new computer system (Saxotech) and a full redesign of the print editions.  Both have already been developed.  Now we need a manager to lead the implementation.  Eventually, the pages of 12 Northern California daily newspapers and five weeklies or semiweeklies will be designed in Chico.  The ideal candidate would have experience with:

  • Complex project management.  If you've led a CMS conversion or implemented a print redesign, that's a plus.
  • Saxotech and InDesign.
  • Producing multiple dailies and weeklies out of a centralized production hub.
  • Extensive recruitment and hiring.
  • Developing and motivating a team.

This position will likely be filled around July 1.   Applications should be submitted by May 19.  To apply, please send a cover letter outlining your qualifications, resume and references to: David Little, DFM NorCal cluster editor, at dlittle@chicoer.com.
