REPORTER

The Times in Gainesville, Ga., has an immediate opening for an experienced reporter with a passion for local news.

The ideal candidate knows how to jump on breaking news for both print and digital platforms while also juggling planned daily stories and long-term enterprise projects. This person also is persistent and skilled at working sources to uncover stories that matter to our readers.

Must be extremely organized, a good planner and a visual thinker who can plan packages that combine well-written stories, strong photos and other elements, including multimedia. Knowledge of AP style and good news judgment are essential. Knowledge of Spanish and the ability to handle a camera would set you apart. 

Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field is required. Three to five years of experience on a daily paper is preferred.
