Opening for morning crime and public safety reporter to conduct research and interviews, cover breaking stories and write features.  Coverage is with a digital-first mind set, getting information to our website as stories develop throughout the day, followed by putting the information together for print.  This reporter is required to have a smartphone and will use it for photos, video, and social media to get information out quickly.  Will work with editors to plan coverage, graphics, videos and photos to accompany stories.  This reporter must be sensitive to the needs and interests of the community.  Working hours are from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Will report to the assistant local news editor and must communicate effectively with the evening crime and public safety reporter, assistant local news editor and local news editor.  Requirements include a college degree in journalism and/or three years daily newspaper writing and/or editing experience.  Send resume and clips to:
