Interview customers to construct both new and revised copy for multi-page websites. Write search engine optimized content for web pages that are accessed through Google and Yahoo search engine results pages.

Primary Responsibilities: 1.Receive and review requests from Yellowbook for advertisers. 2.Identify advertiser’s goal to establish Web Page / Website direction and relevancy. 3.Perform telephone interview with customer as required to establish specific business needs for website, set expectations, and organize content for website. 4.Write copy for multi-page website based on customer interview and provided assets. 5.Examine existing internet and print media, along with copysheets, to determine the most important keyword phrases and write search-friendly copy that incorporates those keyword phrases. 6.Develop targeted, effective copy to convey company products and services and encourage immediate user action. 7.Add all necessary Search Engine Optimization (SEO) data and tags to create a search-friendly page that can be easily and properly indexed by Google and Yahoo. 8.Verify the final copy provides all important points (i.e. company name, contact information, location, business specialty, etc.) and flows well. 9.Update production workflow system(s). 10.Contact customers to get clarification regarding requests for content changes. 11.Revise content per customer’s requirements while following SEO guidelines.
Additional Responsibilities 1.Make appropriate template and image suggestions to Artists. 2.Train and support new hires as necessary. 3.Assist with developing and updating training material. 4.Prepare and maintain regular communication with direct supervisor. 5.Overtime may periodically be required for this position. 6.All other tasks that may be assigned by management from time to time.
Education: •Bachelors Degree preferably in the following disciplines: English, Journalism, Advertising/Marketing, Communications, or the equivalent experience.
Work Experience: •Minimum 1-2 years advertising/copywriting, or professional writing experience preferred •Previous experience writing web copy strongly preferred •Experience in a fast-paced production environment preferred
Computer/Technical Skills: •Google AdWords Certification strongly recommended; equivalent experience and/or knowledge of web search concepts required. •Proficient with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and Word
Soft Skills •Excellent written and oral communication with strong grammar skills •Ability to write clearly and concisely •Ability to craft a strong, actionable marketing message from supplied assets •Sound judgment and analytical skills for determining keyword relevance •Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines •Self-directed and able to work independently •Ability to effectively communicate with advertiser over the telephone •Excellent Customer Service
