The American Society for Engineering Education has an Assistant Editor opening that offers a pathway into a multi-media or magazine career.

We publish award-winning Prism magazine, which covers trends and breakthroughs in engineering, technology, and higher education, as well as several newsletters aimed at students and educators.

The Assistant Editor position is full time, with a reasonable starting salary and good benefits that kick in after 30 days. The basic requirements are spelled out below, but the job offers considerable running room for someone with skill, talent, and imagination.

Candidates should have the following qualifications:

·         Excellent writing and editing skills and a passion for accuracy. Journalism experience is a plus.

·         Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.

·         A strong interest in science and technology education.

·         Training – to the level of expert or high proficiency – in:  HTML (multiple generations); CSS; Search Engine Optimization;  Adobe Fireworks; Dreamweaver; Photoshop; the entire Microsoft Office Suite; Content Management System Web Editing (including Wordpress); BlueGriffon; Campaign Monitor; Constant Contact; HootSuite; GIMP; Twitter, Facebook, and Tumblr; Google Analytics; Skype.

·         A collegial temperament.
