The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette is seeking a creative, motivated and energetic individual for our Online Graphic Designer internship.

The intern will work closely with our online and editorial news staffs to produce strong interactive and static graphics to accompany online articles. We're looking for someone who can not only produce a creative graphic to accompany a story but can also take a hard look at the datasets and suggest better and more informative ways to present the data online.

Duties will include producing highly creative and effective graphics in a deadline-driven environment using statistical data; researching and interpreting data from a variety of sources to build a comprehensive visual presentation on a topic; utilizing a variety of graphical tools and techniques to produce content which compel readers to interact with the website; and other duties as assigned.

Person should have experience with programs used to build online interactive graphics; should be familiar with Web content management systems, HTML, CSS, Excel, Google Fusion tables, Access, the Macintosh OS, BBEdit, Photoshop, and Final Cut Pro or Express and iMovie. The successful candidate should have creative problem-solving skills and an aptitude for quick learning.  

The internship period runs from June 1- August 31. This is a paid postion.
