The Billings Gazette seeks an enterprising general-assignment reporter to chase breaking news, cover local issues and gatherings and update news stories from 3 p.m. to midnight, Tuesday through Saturday. If you know your way around cops, courts and government institutions and can write a great feature, you'll do well in this spot. We'll select a candidate with daily newspaper experience who displays excellent storytelling, spelling and grammar skills ­-- and can juggle daily assignments with some in-depth reporting. Familiarity with digital photography, video and online journalism is a must.

Requirements include a college degree or equivalent job experience. Ability to craft accurate, readable and engaging news and feature stories. Must have good command of spelling and grammar. Must show ability to work independently. Must have ability to write quickly and meet deadlines. Must show good news judgment. Must be able to juggle multiple assignments. Should be able to shoot photos and video. Must  understand the importance of social media to build readership. Must be a strong communicator in person and on the phone and enjoy working in a team atmosphere.
