Manager Editor. Do you love the outdoors and have a passion for news? The Porterville Recorder is a 6,000 circulation six-day a week newspaper that also publishes a weekly Spanish publication, numerous ancillary products, and host the #1 website in the market. The city of Porterville, CA. offers old-town charm while serving as the gateway into the Sequoia National Monument with its magnificent giant sequoias, creeks, rivers, and forest. We have a growing population base, excellent school system, affordable homes, and city and county development is not stagnant in our market. If you enjoy, editing, writing, detail work and have some creativity, then the position is perfect for you. This person will report to the editor and directly manage the day-to-day operations of the newsroom with a staff of seven. The person will also serve as a backup on the copy desk, so pagination skills are needed. ME would also assist editor in writing editorials and write a minimum of three stories a week. Position should demonstrate strong organizational, written and verbal skills. Mac based computer experience is required. College degree and at least five years of newspaper experience is required.
