This is your opportunity to get in on the ground floor of an exciting initiative and play a key impact role guiding a team of sports reporters charged with developing content for our digital and print platforms. You also will spend a portion of your time each day contributing original sports content to the site. We’re redefining what journalism looks like in the digital era, and we'll look to you to ensure everyone on your team is delivering interesting, relevant, and journalistically sound content to be posted on PennLive, tablet and mobile devices, and the pages of the award-winning Patriot-News. The team generates interest in their work by engaging with the audience through social media, blogs and comments, and you will measure audience interest to determine future content. You'll leverage your talent to build a lasting career in journalism, do what you love, add a strong voice to the discussion, and help us build a media company for the 21st century and beyond.

PA Media Group is seeking a well-rounded Managing Producer with a history of success in digital media and expertise in sports news, preferably college sports. To be a good fit for the Managing Producer, Sports role, you will need:
  • A bachelor's degree in journalism, communications or a related field, or the equivalent experience
  • A minimum of five to seven years of professional experience including developing and directing web-related projects/programs
  • At least three to five years of successful management and/or team leadership experience
  • Mastery of social media and digital interaction; experience working with video and social networking functionality/technology is highly desirable
  • Successful experience leading multi-disciplinary teams
  • A solid track record of developing projects and managing them from inception to launch
  • Experience creating interactive metrics reports and analyzing their implications
  • The ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
