WKSU seeks a News Director.

The news director oversees news and information programming and is responsible for the structure and strategy that will ensure WKSU remains a crucial part of Northeast Ohio’s context, understanding and sense of community.  This includes overall direction and planning, hiring, training, coaching, editing and story conceptualizing and planning, as well as working with other departments at the station and other groups in the community to broaden and deepen our reach.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism or relevant field; four years of relevant journalism experience, including newsroom management experience. Must possess broadcast-quality voice

WKSU is recognized nationally as an outstanding news organization. In the calendar year 2012 alone, WKSU had 44 awards with 23 of those being first place.  WKSU also had one inductee into the Cleveland Journalism Hall of Fame (Vivian Goodman).
